Puccini meets Gershwin: a musical journey through the golden age of Hollywood classics & more…

Lola Ganzarolli also known by the artist name Lola G. is an international soprano, songwriter, performing & recording artist.

Born in Moscow, she grew up in Indochina (Cambodia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka), and as a teen won a full music scholarship to come to study in London, U.K., where she moved alone at 15. Lola went on to win bursaries to train at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She also trained at prestigious institutions including the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, and under the guidance of world-renowned mentors such as late Professor Emeritus James Gibb and Maestro Sergey Leferkus.

After meeting tenor Vittorio Grigolo in Zürich, Lola went to Veneto, Italy to study with his voice coach, Maestro Danilo Rigosa, who helped Lola find her voice, and at the same time encouraged her to write her own music. Significant influence on her formation as artist has also played her aunt Lydia Shubina, an actress and honorary artist of Russia and Yermolova Theatre in Moscow.

Lola has performed extensively across the U.K. and internationally, in prestigious venues such as Musikverein in Vienna, Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Dmitry Shostakovich Philharmonia in St Petersburg and the State Historical Museum in Moscow. She has appeared in supporting roles in various operatic productions, including a premiere of Madama Butterfly at the NCPA in Mumbai, India. In 2018/2019 Lola performed with concert pianist Samson Tsoy in concerts in Italy, Suoni dal Golfo festival of music and poetry in Lerici, and in London, where they presented a series of concerts dedicated to Russian music repertoire and the poetry by Alexander Pushkin. Having also Central Asian and Uzbek heritage, Lola recorded several songs in Uzbek language, and took part in 2024 Uzbekistan Culture Festival in London’s Tower Bridge, singing a popular classic and two of her own original songs.

Lola appeared in the 2025 New Year’s concert in Locri’s theatre and Palazzo della Cultura, singing Puccini operatic arias and Russian romantic repertoire under the baton of Maestro Gianluca Marcianò and festival orchestra of Accademia Senocrito.

In 2023 Lola started her collaboration with classically trained jazz pianist Tomasz Bura, together they have performed in a number of venues in London and across Italy.

In February and March of 2026 duo had a tour of concerts in India, starting with a concert at NCPA in Mumbai on Valentine’s Day. Their programme features well known classics and films songs from the Golden era of Hollywood & Puccini Meets Gershwin crossover thematic and concept, merging Lola’s refined, classically trained voice with Tomasz’s exceptional improvisational skills.

Finalist singer of London’s Future Classic Women Awards 2023, 2021 & 2019, Lola appeared on London’s Women’s Radio Station in Covent Garden, talking about her music, artistic journey, motherhood and future projects. She is also a guest soprano, regularly featured on Radio Wales 103.1FM Classical Crossover 4U as well as in the New York-based Crossover Magazine concerts and radio shows, showcasing her versatility and broad repertoire, ranging from classical opera and romances to crossover, jazz classics and her own original songs.

Her pure and evocative soprano voice and commanding stage presence have earned her acclaim on different stages all across the world. In addition to her love for classical Italian opera and Russian vocal repertoire, Lola is equally at home with the Classical Crossover and film music vocal repertoire, which also led her to writing her own music and songs with lyrics in English and Italian.

Lola is, proudly, a citizen of the world. Her experience of diverse cultures and musical styles finds distinctive expression in the music and lyrics of her original songs. Lola’s debut album Undreamt Dreams was recorded in Italy. Fano, and mastered at Abbey Road Studios, and took shape over the 16 months between the births of her children. It is a collection of all original songs and lyrics written and performed by Lola. Taking inspiration from pop, jazz, her love for film and from her classical music training, Lola has crafted a sound world that is uniquely her own, and she is currently in the process of arranging new songs for her next album.

Lola is actively collaborating with Igor Fain, one of London’s top independent videographers, producing music videos, to promote and feature her voice and songs. Music videos of Lola feature the spectacular gowns by Italian haute couture designer Antonio Riva, who has supported Lola’s music, endorsing her as one of the ambassadors of his stunning Made in Italy brand of timeless elegance and style.

Recent highlights include her debut as a soloist at the Brahms-Saal of the Musikverein in Vienna with the United Europe Festival orchestra in January 2026, as well as a highly acclaimed Gershwin and Gold Hollywood Classics tour across India in February & March of 2026, performing at the NCPA in Mumbai, the Poona Music Society in Pune, and Windmills in Bengaluru.

On 1st May Lola presented a recital of her new original songs at St James’s Church in central London. This event served also as an introduction of the Mums in Music initiative, a campaign championing motherhood in the arts. This initiative and an opinion article was featured in April on the front page of Classical Music Magazine UK, as well as other publications. On May 28th Lola performed in Barcelona with poetess Maria Kabanova, a collaborative program of all original music and poetry exploring the themes of family, femininity and motherhood.

In June 2026, Lola performed at the VIII International Music Festival Tribute to Elena Obraztsova at the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonia.

Current plans include a solo recital in Milan in the autumn, and further collaborative performances with Maria Kabanova in Vienna and London. Lola is in the process of producing her new album of all original songs, whilst also writing and producing her own One-Woman Show. Future plans include concert tours in Cuba and Asia. She also anticipates return performances at the Suoni dal Golfo Festival of Poetry and Music in Lerici, Italy.
